Switchgrass ‘Sunburst’ is a rhizomatous, warm-season bunchgrass that is native throughout most of the U.S. It is a major component of the Tallgrass Prairie ecosystem. Sunburst originates from southeastern South Dakota and has a moderately early maturity and larger seeds than most varieties. It works best planted in upland sites. Use for pasture mixes, range seeding, erosion control and biofuel production. It also provides good nesting habitat, cover and food for many different types of wildlife.
