‘Moonshine’ Sunflower blooms with glowing, pale yellow petals surrounding dark centers. The pale color shines both day and night atop robust plants growing 6-8 feet tall. This light lemon color has become increasingly popular and contrasts beautifully with other vibrant flowers in the garden landscape. ‘Moonshine’ was bred as a cut flower, with sturdy stems and a base-branching habit that provide large, abundant flowers and full vases all summer long. Like other sunflowers it is reliably easy to grow and provides pollen and nectar for a large variety of pollinators while in bloom. Once flowers are spent, the seedheads can be left for seed-eating birds such as goldfinches, cardinals, chickadees and jays.
