Prairie Junegrass is a cool-season bunchgrass that is native to most of Canada and the U.S. It does not occur in the Southeast or parts of New England. It is found in many native plant communities such as prairies, open woods, and mountain foothills. It greens up early and provides forage for livestock and wildlife. This grass is ornamental and can be used for xeriscape gardens.
