California Poppy ‘Carmine King’
(Eschscholzia californica)
Carmine rose flowers with blue-green, finely divided foliage characterize this Poppy cultivar. Honey bees and wild bees are often seen collecting pollen from the flowers. Plants are very adaptable, preferring full sun and dry to moderate moisture. Poppies prefer well-drained, poor soils and resent transplanting. Hardy in USDA zones 8-10, grow as an annual in colder climates. Reseeds readily in most areas.
