Ammi, Green Mist
(Ammi visnaga)
Delicate and lacey, the umbrella-shaped Ammi, Green Mist matures from green to white. At 5-7 inches in size, these blooms take center stage in annual gardens and cut flower arrangements alike. Finely dissected leaves characterized by the carrot family lend an airy feel to the plant. Ammi requires a well-draining site in full to part sun. It’s recommended to cut the flowers while they are still green to see them bloom fully within a bouquet. The seed heads are adorned with small spikes that provide winter interest, and it is sometimes called Toothpick Plant because its stems have been used to make aromatic toothpicks.
