Native to the Northern Great plains, this cool season bunchgrass has a large range of soil tolerances, namely clay and fractured shale. Boasting fibrous roots that can extend up to 10 feet in depth or more, Green Needlegrass is a great species for bank stabilization. It is also drought and disease resistant and provides habitat for ground nesting birds.
