Geranium, Sticky Purple
(Geranium viscosissimum)
Sticky Purple Geranium is a widely distributed native perennial from the western U.S., British Columbia and Alberta. It is typically found on open slopes, along streams, and in shaded areas in the mountains. The petals can range from light pink to deep purple. The leaves and stems are covered by glandular hairs that make plants sticky when touched. Seeds are eaten by small mammals and birds, and flowers attract bees, flies and butterflies.
