This perennial aster, formerly under Aster laevis, is native to most of the United States and Canada and can be found in prairies, savannas, forest openings, woodland edges and roadsides. Plants are adaptable and easy to grow. The violet flowers appear in late summer and early fall and are excellent, late-season pollinator plants. Attracts honey bees, butterflies and wild bees.
