Regional, Native Seed Mixes and Garden Mixes for Home/Urban Bee Conservation Plantings

Applewood Seed Company has spent many years developing seed mixes for bee conservation. Research in our trial gardens has focused on flower preferences of honey bees and native bee families. We have found that a wide variety of flower colors, shapes and sizes will serve the broadest group of bees. In addition, it is important to include early, mid- and late blooming flowers in mixes to provide food to bees all season long. Our bee mixes contain flowers that are attractive to bees and other pollinators and are adaptable to a fairly wide range of planting conditions.
