Native Grass Mixtures

These native grass mixtures are composed primarily of non-aggressive clump grasses and are designed for ornamental use.  They are not suitable as erosion control mixtures.  All grass mixtures can be combined with wildflowers or planted alone.  Try them with one of our standard wildflower mixtures or a custom wildflower mixture made to your specifications.

This grass mixture is for elevations between 5,500 and 8,200 feet in the mountainous regions of the Western U.S. Contains Indian Ricegrass, Sideoats Grama, Mountain Brome, Bottlebrush Squirreltail, Blue Grama, Arizona Fescue, Sandberg Bluegrass and Prairie Junegrass.

 

High Mountain Native Grass MixtureHigh Mountain Native Grass Mixture

This grass mixture is for elevations between 8,200 and 12,000 feet in the mountainous regions of the Western U.S. Contains Blue Wildrye, Mountain Brome, Alpine Bluegrass, Idaho Fescue, Canby Bluegrass and Tufted Hairgrass.

 

Northeast Native Grass MixtureNortheast Native Grass Mixture

This mixture of warm and cool-season grasses grows to a height of 24 to 48 inches. Contains Virginia Wildrye, Silky Wildrye, Canada Wildrye, Little Bluestem and Indiangrass.

This mixture of warm and cool-season grasses grows to a height of 12 to 40 inches. Contains Blue Wildrye, Slender Wheatgrass, Blue Grama, Little Bluestem, Indian Ricegrass, Sandberg Bluegrass, Prairie Junegrass, Green Needlegrass and Needle-and-Thread.

 

Shortgrass MixtureShortgrass Mixture

This mixture of warm season grasses grows to a height of 12 to 30 inches.  Best for moderate to drier sites. Contains Blue Grama, Sideoats Grama, Sand Dropseed and Prairie Junegrass. For elevations below 6,000 feet.

This mixture of warm and cool-season grasses grows to a height of 24 to 48 inches. Contains Virginia Wildrye, Purpletop and Broomsedge.

This mixture of warm season grasses grows to a height of 24 to 96 inches.  Best for moderate to moister sites. Contains Big Bluestem, Little Bluestem, Indiangrass and Switchgrass. For elevations below 6,000 feet.
